Gators add two commitments following victory over Tennessee

Florida's big win over their long-time rival helped two recruits make their mind up - they are now committed to the Gators.

Off to a four-game win streak to start the 2019 season, extending their total win streak that began last season to eight, Florida has earned commitments from multiple recruits.

2020 punter Jeremy Crenshaw, who reigns from Australia and is a member of Prokick, committed to Florida in the middle of the night on Monday. Joseph Hastings of Gators Territory reports that Crenshaw was in attendance for Florida's 34-3 win over Tennessee at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday. Crenshaw explained his commitment decision to Hastings within the story.

The 6-3, 190 lb. punter will be Tommy Townsend's replacement as the only scholarship punter on the roster after Townsend leaves Florida this offseason.

Prokick Australia "was developed in 2007 to help guide and transition Australian athletes to perform at the College/ NFL level," according to their website. 75 scholarships and NFL contracts have been given to Prokick Australia graduates, and they boast 17 All American awards.

Just before that, 2021 defensive tackle Christopher Thomas Jr. from Dunbar High School (Fort Myers, FL) committed to the Gators as well. The 6-6, 277 lb. lineman is currently unranked by scouting services, but Rivals reports that he has eight offers so far, and he chose Florida over Florida State, Texas A&M, Maryland, and others.

His 2019-20 junior season stats are not on MaxPreps yet, but Thomas Jr. recorded 30 tackles, four sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and forced a fumble in seven varsity games in 2018. You can watch his up-to-date junior season tape below.
