16 tackles will typically earn you some attention. And in David Reese's case, it earned him honors.

Reese II, Florida's starting middle linebacker, has been named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Gators' 29-21 victory over Kentucky this past Saturday. Reese recorded 13 solo tackles to go with three assisted, more than double the amount of any other Gators defender.

The senior linebacker now stands at 23 tackles on the season, averaging over seven per game. He also has half of a sack.

Defensive end Jonathan Greenard earned SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week following Florida's victory over Miami in "Week Zero". In Greenard's debut game for the Gators, he tallied 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss. The productive pass rusher stands at 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss throughout the year, to go with 13 total tackles.
