According to his Instagram, Florida Gators junior defensive tackle Elijah Conliffe will miss the 2019 season due to injury.

Head coach Dan Mullen confirmed that Conliffe suffered an injury on his “Gator Talk” radio show, but did not elaborate on what the injury was or the severity.

Conliffe didn't specify what his injury was on his Instagram, but posted a picture of his foot wrapped, asking "Lord why?".

The 6-4, 312 lb. lineman was listed as the backup 3-technique with Marlon Dunlap on the Gators' Week Zero depth chart, so this loss hurts the team's defensive line depth. This could force true freshman Jaelin Humphries to play throughout the 2019 season, as well as expand upon defensive end Zachary Carter's new-found role as a rotating interior player.

Florida has now lost three players to season-ending injuries - all defensive depth pieces. Previously, defensive lineman David Reese and cornerback C.J. McWilliams both tore their Achilles.
