Just over two years ago, I received news that my interview with Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette had been picked up by Sports Illustrated.
A recent high school graduate, who began covering the Jaguars as a junior two years prior, that moment was a new peak in my young sports media career. However, I knew that my continual work ethic and desire to cover football would lead to reading my name on Sports Illustrated’s front page again in the future.
Though, the goal was to read my name on an SI by-line. Fast forward to today, and that goal has been accomplished.
I’m honored to announce that I’ve taken on the role of publisher for GatorMaven, Sports Illustrated’s brand new Florida Gators news outlet.
Maven has a vision to reshape the sports media market, with team-centric sites across all major sporting leagues run by driven, hungry analysts and writers. It’s humbling to be viewed in that light, and I’m ecstatic to get on board.
Here at GatorMaven, fans will not only be constantly updated on all things Gators football (and more), but they’ll be members of a community. On top of daily articles, videos, social media posts, and a weekly podcast, Gator Maven will host an active community board for Gators fans to post and interact on – for free!
The community boards will not be restricted to GatorMaven content. If you become a member of our community and see an awesome interview from another Gators site, post it to the board! We have a home page for Gator Maven articles, and I will certainly push my work onto the board as well. But there’s endless, enjoyable content on the Gators market that deserves to be shared.
I believe that this freedom can help turn GatorMaven into a go-to resource for Florida Gators news and discussion, as well as help promote other great work.
But of course, GatorMaven will post great content of its own. I’m entering my fifth year in the sports media industry, with credentialed experience in both the NFL and CFB. From interviews to breaking news, film room breakdowns, and so much more – I’m ready to serve the Gators community with credible, objective journalism paired with fair, entertaining opinions and analysis.
So pull up a chair (or in this case, hit the “bookmark” button on your browser and "follow" on the GM homepage), and stick around GatorMaven as we grow into the most dependable Florida Gators outlet on the market.
