Florida DL Commit Shuts Down Recruitment: '1000% Locked In'

Defensive lineman Michai Boireau is the latest 2024 Florida commitment to "officially shut down" his recruitment in favor of the Gators.
"1000% locked in," Boireau wrote via Twitter on Wednesday.
Safeties Xavier Filsaime and Josiah Davis, running back Kahnen Daniels, linebackers Adarius Hayes and Myles Graham, wide receiver Izaiah Williams and offensive tackle Mike Williams have made similar announcements in recent weeks.
Boireau pledged to Florida on June 19 following an official visit to Georgia. He had officially visited UF the week before and opted for the Gators over the Bulldogs in the midst of the program's 10-commitment run in the month of June.

Similar to [UF defensive line commit Nasir] Johnson, Florida prioritized Boireau considering its glaring need for interior trench talent in the class of 2024. The Gators fought the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs off to obtain the Peach State prospect's commitment, an impressive feat for [head coach Billy] Napier and his coaching staff.
A massive nose tackle projection, Boireau tallied 43 tackles, four sacks and seven tackles for loss during his junior season. His frame is likely to be reshaped at the college level which could lead to a redshirt year, but Florida undoubtedly will aim to deploy Boireau in the middle of its defense sooner rather than later.
