Decatur (Ga.) athlete prospect Jadan Baugh trimmed his list of contenders on Tuesday afternoon from 16 to the six following schools: Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville and South Carolina.

The Gators made a late arrival into the sweepstakes for Baugh after offering the talented athlete prospect on Jan. 27, he announced via Twitter. While the relationship was stagnant, in his mind, in the months following the offer, Florida's desire to get him on campus elevated its standing within his recruitment.

According to Baugh, the visit sparked his interest in UF, resulting in their inclusion of the team within his top six.

"They came around a little later in the process," he told On3 Sports' Jeremy Johnson on Tuesday. "When I first talked with them, they just wanted to get me down there. I didn't feel the bond until I got down there. Seeing things made me feel better about them."

The three-star athlete has seen time at quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback and safety during his high school career, serving as an uber-productive asset in each role for Columbia High School. He's also earned potential looks as a linebacker for the next level, given his 6-foot, 214-pound frame.

It's unclear where Florida would like to place him if it was to earn his pledge, but Baugh's versatility and athleticism stand out for a Gators team in need of athletes at skill positions on both sides of the ball.

There is no set date for Baugh's commitment at this stage, but reports suggest an early summer timeline could be his planned direction.
