Florida DL Target Schedules Commitment, Names Finalists
Orlando (Fla.) Jones 2024 defensive lineman and long-time Gators target D'Antre Robinson will make his college commitment on Friday, July 21, he confirmed with All Gators on Monday.
He'll select one of his top ten schools at that time: Florida, Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, Ohio State, Georgia, Maryland, Texas, Colorado and Texas A&M.
Florida's former coaching staff presented Robinson with a scholarship offer in June 2021. Current head coach Billy Napier and his staff of assistants quickly picked the recruitment up where it was left behind, hosting Robinson thrice unofficially since their Dec. 2021 hiring.
Most recently, Robinson began his slate of official visits with a trip to Gainesville from June 2-4. He exited the stay with a sense of comfort, understanding just how much defensive line coach Sean "Chaos" Spencer and Florida's coaching staff valued him from their three days together.
"Really good being with coach Chaos," Robinson told All Gators after the visit. "He's teaching me a few things and his message to me is, like, he really feels like I can be a franchise player with my size and my ability to move around.
"They want to use me all over the D-line. They feel I could do stunts and they feel I can be a first, second and third down player, so that's what they really like about me."
Robinson, 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, is regarded as the No. 41 defensive lineman and No. 401 overall prospect in the class of 2024 by the 247Sports composite rankings. Across two varsity seasons and counting at Jones, Robinson has compiled 137 total tackles, 11 sacks, 33 tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
