Florida is in the mix for a highly productive defensive line prospect from Alabama in the 2024 class.

Parker High School's (Birmingham, Ala.) Jeremiah Beaman continues the Florida Gators' quest for compiling talent on the defensive line as the calendar turns to focus on the 2024 class.

The defensive lineman has shown an evident interest in Florida since his offer on Oct. 6, although he's looking to take his recruitment process slow to soak in a process he says he's "highly blessed" to experience.

He's yet to carve out any leaders, and as a result, is keeping his thoughts on an impressive 20-team offer list close to the vest as we enter the spring.

"I'm still equal with everybody and just enjoying the process trying to see who fits me and how, how I could fit them," he told All Gators on Sunday.

However, he's begun building a rapport with Gators defensive line coach Sean Spencer, who would oversee his development in the defensive trenches if he chose UF.

"Coach Spencer is a very funny guy," he shared. "We chop it up all the time. We have a good relationship, and just he's very detailed, so he knows what he's talking about and how he wants things or how he would want things to fit me if I was to go there."

Defensive line graduate assistant Kali James Jr. is also a contact in Florida's hunt for Beaman. The talented lineman has been in touch with the duo of coaches regularly, "almost every two days."

Florida's found recent success targeting the defensive side of the ball in Alabama, most recently landing a commitment from DL Kelby Collins — the highest-rated member of the 2023 recruiting class per 247Sports.

Linebacker Shemar James was a splash landing from the Yellowhammer State in 2022.

Early pursuits suggest Beaman is high on Florida's wish list to continue that trend.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 265 pounds, the Parker High School (Birmingham, Ala.) product aligns with the size, length and athleticism metrics the Gators have likened when targeting defensive line talent under Billy Napier's staff.

The UA Next Camp in Atlanta offered him an opportunity to hone in on some of his movement mechanics against fellow high-level. He said he focused on exhibiting his explosiveness getting off the ball and footwork on Sunday, areas of his game that led him to compile 50 tackles, 10 TFLs, 10 sacks and three interceptions in 2022.

He has yet to visit the University of Florida to this point in his recruitment but will look to make a trip to Gainesville this March.

There, he'll focus on growing a relationship with the Florida head coach. The two entities have had limited contact to this point in his recruitment, but Beaman is hopeful a connection with Napier will be fruitful when made.
