Gators Land Commitment From DL Jalen Wiggins

Florida picks up its second class of 2025 commitment in as many days, this time securing Sunshine State defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins.

Florida is officially rolling on the recruiting trail in the 2025 cycle.

One day removed from luring Woodward Academy wide receiver target Josiah Abdullah in to join running back Waltez Clark in its commitment class, Florida has added its first defender in the form of Tallahassee (Fla.) James Rickards High School lineman Jalen Wiggins

Wiggins announced his pledge to UF through On3 Sports.

The acquisition marks the first on the recruiting trail for new Florida defensive line coach Gerald Chatman, who replaced Sean Spencer in the role in December.

Florida's recruitment of Wiggins dates back to his March 2023 offer from the program and has persisted into the new year, reigniting when Chatman and Co. re-offered the prospect on Jan. 4.

Wiggins was quick to visit the UF campus after receiving Chatman's call, making his way to Gainesville for Florida's junior day recruiting event this past weekend.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Wiggins is regarded as a consensus top-100, four-star player in the class of 2025, ranking as the No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 92 overall prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

247Sports credits Wiggins with 167 tackles including 50 for loss, 30 sacks and three forced fumbles produced over his sophomore and junior seasons at Rickards High.

Wiggins profiles as a strong-side, "F" defensive end in coordinator Austin Armstrong's UF defensive scheme, offering the positional flexibility to play defensive tackle in a pass-rushing capacity.
