From 37 offers to the final eight to the top three, Tampa (Fla.) Catholic cornerback Jameer Grimsley trimmed his list of contending schools once more on Thursday, with Florida, Alabama and Michigan comprising the trio of programs left standing.

Grimsley also scheduled his college commitment for Saturday, July 1 as a part of the announcement.

The Gators' coaching staff made a strong impression on the Sunshine State prospect during his June 20 unofficial trip to Gainesville, spending one day with Grimsley in between his five official visits (three-day stays) throughout the month, to North Carolina, Penn State, Florida State, Alabama and Michigan.

Grimsley had previously toured UF unofficially on April 8.

Although Grimsley plays both wide receiver and defensive back consistently at the prep level, he has emerged as one of Florida secondary coach Corey Raymond's top targets at the cornerback position in the 2024 cycle.

Grimsley hauled in 25 receptions for 356 yards and three touchdowns as a wide receiver and posted 10 tackles, one interception and one pass breakup as a defensive back during his junior season at Valrico (Fla.) Bloomingdale.

He is considered the No. 18 cornerback and No. 231 overall prospect in the class of 2024 by the 247Sports composite rankings.

A two-sport athlete, Grimsley also runs track. He has produced personal records of 10.94 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 21.89 seconds in the 200-meter dash, per MileSplit.
