Highly Regarded 2025 Linebacker Includes Gators in Top 8
As the Gators wind down their 2024 recruiting efforts with just a handful of targets remaining in to fill spots in the current 21-man class, attention has begun to turn toward the ensuing cycle.
In recent weeks, Floridaโs dished out several offers to top players in the nation while continuing to foster relationships with preexisting prospects.
On Friday, that process paid off as the Gators moved forward in the recruitment of University Lab (Baton Rouge, La.) linebacker Keylan Moses in his newly released top eight. The list includes Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas alongside UF.
Moses, the brother of former Alabama standout Dylan Moses, is tabbed No. 153 overall per 247 Sports Composite rankings as the No. 7 athlete in the nation. The talented 6-foot-2, 210-pound off-ball linebacker visited Florida on two occasions under the current regime, most recently in January 2023.
Heโs in the process of building a rapport with the Louisiana-heavy staff, expectedly connecting with area recruiter Jabbar Juluke and position coach Jay Bateman during those treks to Gainesville.
Bateman has objectively compiled the best linebacker haul in the country in 2024 with Myles Graham, Adarius Hayes, Aaron Chiles Jr. and Jamonta Waller joining the Florida commitment class.
He looks to continue the run in talent next cycle, with Moses as a potential option for the endeavor alongside IMG Academy standouts Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng and Gavin Nix, Vero Beach (Fla.) product Tarvos Alford and the classโs top-ranked โbacker from Schley County (Ga.) Zayden Walker.
Brian Kelly and the Tigers are currently considered the favorites to keep Moses in The Boot for his collegiate career. However, Florida and the others will be intentional in their efforts to overcome LSU prior to that decision.
