CB Mark Zackery IV Names Gators in Top 4, Sets Florida Official Visit
Florida is in the top four for consensus four-star cornerback Mark Zackery IV of Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis High School, he announced on Thursday. Michigan, Notre Dame had Cincinnati round out Zackery's group of contenders.
According to 247Sports, Zackery intends to officially visit UF over the weekend of June 21. He'll make official trips to each of his top schools throughout the month of June.
Florida only recently entered Zackery's recruitment, presenting him with a scholarship offer on Feb. 7, but new Gators secondary coach Will Harris has quickly made up ground in the program's pursuit of the cornerback's services.
Zackery is considered the No. 16 cornerback, the No. 1 prospect from the state of Indiana and the No. 133 overall recruit in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
During his breakout junior campaign in 2023, Zackery caught 53 passes for 823 yards and eight touchdowns offensively, and 39 tackles, four interceptions including one pick-six, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. one of which he returned for a touchdown.
Also a Division 1 basketball prospect with a reported offer from Butler, Zackery has averaged 9.8 points. 3.9 assists, two rebounds and 1.5 steals per matchup over 19 games during his 2023-24 season.
Florida's 2025 recruiting class currently consists of four committed prospects: Tampa (Fla.) Plant running back Waltez Clark, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy wide receiver Josiah Abdullah, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County interior offensive lineman Peyton Joseph and Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins.
