OT Marcus Mascoll Names Florida Gators to Top 3

UPDATE: Mascoll shares with All Gators that he will announce his collegiate home on June 19, one day removed from finishing his official visits to his top three schools.
Once deemed the "hidden gem" of the Gators' search for bookend tackle talent in the 2024 cycle, South Gwinett (Ga.) offensive tackle Marcus Mascoll stands as a priority prospect for Florida.
On Monday evening, the UF's duo of offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton got one step closer to anchoring his services as he included Florida in his top three schools, listing the program alongside LSU and NC State as the teams moving forward in his recruitment.

Offered on March 6, Mascoll wasted little time before making the trek to Florida on March 28 to better examine what Billy Napier and Co. have to offer him at the collegiate level. During that trip, he built a strong rapport with the staff, quickly emerging as a priority target on their offensive tackle board.
"He told me I'm the hidden gem," he said of Sale's evaluation.
The Gators' pursuit and high praise for his game made a lasting impression on the Peach State talent. One he surely carried into his decision for them to remain a potential suitor at this stage.
"You know, it just means a lot to see the faith they have in me, belief in me," Mascoll told All Gators, freshly removed from his springtime visit. "They see the potential."
Standing at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds, Mascoll is undersized relative to the talent the Gators have reeled in at the spot as of late. However, he still presents an imposing frame with impressive length and strong hands to adequately protect franchise quarterback DJ Lagway from the exterior.
If not, he still possesses value as a versatile offensive lineman — with experience inside at the prep level.
Fresh off an official stay at LSU to kickstart June, Mascoll will travel to Gainesville this weekend for a crucial face-to-face opportunity for the Gators' chances at securing his services. He'll then head to NC State June 16-18 for the final visit currently marked on the calendar, rounding out his stays at the three schools still involved.
A commitment decision is expected soon thereafter, although no date is currently set for Mascoll to announce his pledge.
