Peach State OT Names Florida Gators to Top 8
Langston Hughes (Fairburn, Ga.) offensive tackle prospect Tavaris Dice trimmed his list of prospective schools to eight on Tuesday afternoon.
The Peach State native and class of 2025 recruit included Florida alongside Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Missouri, NC State and Missouri as the programs moving forward in contention for his services.
“I chose Florida because they stay in contact with me and they have two or three offensive line coaches, so there is no excuses,” Dice told All Gators when asked about his decision to include Florida in his top eight. “There is always work, that way I can be developed well and be prepared for the next level.”
The 6-foot-6, 275-pound lineman is the No. 24 ranked offensive tackle and No. 273 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. A four-star recruit who doubles as a basketball player, Dice played a significant role in protecting five-star 2024 Ohio State quarterback commit Air Noland in the high-powered Panthers offense this season.
The Gators have taken a considerable interest in Dice since his March 30 offer, hosting him on campus twice during the 2023 offseason.
He’s only visited Auburn more, including his lone in-season trek to the Plains for the Tigers midseason matchup with Mississippi State.
Dice aligns as a prospect high on the board for Florida as Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton strive to raise the level of offensive line talent by compiling a stout 2025 class.
The Gators currently hold four pledges along the offensive trenches in the 2024 cycle, including one bookend-caliber tackle prospect in Tuscarora, Va., native Fletcher Westphal.
Potential swing offensive lineman Marcus Mascoll and high-upside tackle Mike Williams are also among the incoming recruits at the position.
