OT Michael Uini Announces Florida Official Visit
Copperas Cove (Texas) High 2024 offensive lineman Michael Uini announced on Monday that he will officially visit Florida from June 9-11.
247Sports reports that Uini will also officially visit Clemson (June 2-4), Michigan (June 16-18), Georgia (June 23) and Alabama (Oct. 20) in the coming months.
Florida was named among Uini's top ten programs on Jan. 6, alongside Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Baylor, TCU, Texas, Oregon, Southern California and Nebraska.
The Gators entered Uini's recruitment in Aug. 2022 by presenting him with a scholarship offer before the start of his junior campaign. Although Florida has been involved in his recruitment for some time, the official visit will mark Uini's first documented trip to Gainesville, Fla. as a recruit.
Then, he will have an opportunity to bond with Florida's coaching staff in person, specifically offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton and head coach Billy Napier. Sale and Stapleton, the assistants who would oversee Uini's development at UF, paid Copperas Cove a visit on May 18, days before Uini announced the upcoming visit.
Uini, 6-foot-7. 290 pounds, is considered the No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 119 overall prospect in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He played left tackle during his junior season.
Prized class of 2024 Florida quarterback commit DJ Lagway, a fellow Lone Star State product from Willis (Texas) High, has aided the coaching staff's effort in recruiting Uini to UF.
