Amid a busy official visitors weekend in Gainesville to kick off June, the Florida Gators have not limited the talent on campus merely to those on multi-day stays.

DJ Pickett, the nation's top-rated safety and No. 7 overall player in the 2025 class per 247Sports Composite, joins the elite compilation of prospects as he stops by Florida Saturday, All Gators has learned.

He confirmed the visit via Twitter.

The Zephyrhills (Fla.) product saw his recruitment explode heading into his sophomore season in 2022. Garnering 37 total offers dating back to January 2021, Pickett has wowed prospective programs with his impressive size, speed and athleticism as a defensive back prospect.

Standing at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds with a documented 10.69 100-meter dash time, Pickett displays the playmaking abilities in the third level the Gators have cherished when targeting safety talent.

That trend began with thumpers Kamari Wilson and Miguel Mitchell in the staff's transition class. 2023 signees Jordan Castell and Bryce Thornton are further examples. 2024 commits Xavier Filsaime and Josiah Davis are expected to carry it forward.

In 2025, the uber-talented and instinctual Pickett — possessing arguably the best in free-range coverage and ball skills of the bunch — accordingly aligns as Gators' secondary coach Corey Raymond's top prospect in the backend.

While 2024 is currently of primary focus, as the Gators staff looks to capitalize on the headway it's made with several top-tier recruits in the cycle, building relationships with elite players like Pickett early is secondary.

As a result, Billy Napier, Corey Raymond and Co. attempt to leave a lasting impression on the in-state prep standout — as they jockey for position in a tight race — during his third visit to campus since March 2022.
