Approaching his final campaign at Buchholz High School (Gainesville, Fla.), defensive lineman Kendall Jackson has a lot on his plate as he looks to balance his recruitment and on-field responsibilities for the Bobcats.

Taking three official visits in as many weekends this June, with one more on the way to Miami, Jackson has began to narrow his focus to an assortment of programs including Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas and Miami.

He was originally scheduled to allow those visits to marinate as he pins down his home of the future in August. However, in an effort to shut down his recruitment and shift focus directly toward growing “bigger, faster and stronger” for his senior season he moved up his timeline into July, he shared with All Gators.

On Monday, Jackson shared the new pledge date of July 20 via Twitter.

The Gators have long been considered the top suitor for the homegrown defensive line talent dating back to his original offer on June 15, 2022 by the Dan Mullen-led regime. Billy Napier and Co. picked up where the old staff left off in pursuit of Jackson.

He’s traveled to campus in 13 different occasions since March 2022.

His latest, an official visit to campus June 2-4, put the Gators in the driver’s seat to earn his services when his final decision time came.

However, the ensuing trips Jackson has taken have closed the gap for other programs vying to earn the talented 6-foot-4, 250-pound five-tech prospect.

Florida is currently slated alongside Kentucky as the schools standing out to Jackson, he shared, heading into his final official visit on the calendar. He’ll trek to Coral Gables to link with Mario Cristobal and Co. June 23-25 before mulling over the difficult decision for just under a month.

“After taking these visits, it’s going to be real hard to make my decision,” he said on Monday.

Florida will look to add to an already uber-talented defensive line class reeled in over the span of 48 hours — Nasir Johnson, Amaris Williams, Michai Boireau, Jamonta Waller — by keeping the Gainesville native home for his collegiate career.
