Watch: New Florida DL Commit Michai Boireau at Friday Night Lights Camp

Following his commitment to the Gators, defensive lineman Michai Boireau took the gridiron for drills during Florida's Friday Night Lights camp.
In this story:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida held its annual Friday Night Lights recruiting camp on, you guessed it, Friday night.

Over 100 prospects were in attendance, mostly from future recruiting classes, aiming to prove themselves athletically and football-technically in front of the Gators' coaching staff.

There was one noticeable class of 2024 prospect working out, however, and it was one that Florida is plenty familiar with: Gators defensive line commit and Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside product Michai Boireau.

Boireau took the gridiron for position drills with fellow defensive line prospects, allowing Florida defensive line coach Sean Spencer, edge rushers coach Mike Peterson, graduate assistant Kali James, pass rush specialist Luis Mcleod and other coaches to observe the skill set of one of their latest pledges.

He notably showcased impressive movement skills and fluidity for a defensive lineman of his stature — 6-foot-5, 360 pounds — during bag drills in which his footwork and ability to bend were tested.

Observe Boireau's performance in the Friday Night Lights camp drills above, and learn more about his commitment to Florida in his All Gators biography below.

, Florida prioritized Boireau considering its glaring need for interior trench talent in the class of 2024. The Gators fought the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs off to obtain the Peach State prospect's commitment, an impressive feat for Napier and his coaching staff.

A massive nose tackle projection, Boireau tallied 43 tackles, four sacks and seven tackles for loss during his junior season. His frame is likely to be reshaped at the college level which could lead to a redshirt year, but Florida undoubtedly will aim to deploy Boireau in the middle of its defense sooner rather than later.
