Where to Watch Florida OT Target Fletcher Westphal's Commitment
It's decision day for Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora offensive tackle and class of 2024 Gators' recruiting target Fletcher Westphal.
Westphal is scheduled to choose one of Florida, Clemson, Georgia, Auburn and Arkansas — his final five programs following a recruitment stretched out to 39 scholarship offers — at 11:45 a.m. ET. Westphal will announce his commitment on Instagram Live, which can be accessed here.
"Grateful for the relationships I’ve built over the last year," Westphal wrote on April 30 when he announced his finalists. "Thank you to every coach that has poured into me. I can’t thank you enough."
Westphal proceeded to officially visit each of his contenders, sans Auburn, including a trip to Gainesville from June 16-18. He had previously unofficially visited UF twice, first attending Florida's 38-6 victory over South Carolina in Nov. 2022 and again to observe a spring practice session on March 11.
Should Westphal pick the Gators, he'd join Upper Marlboro (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers tackle Mike Williams, Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett tackle Marcus Mascoll and Schwäbisch Hall (Germany) guard Noel Portnjagin in Florida's haul of 2024 offensive line prospects.
The 6-foot-8, 335-pound Westphal is regarded as the No. 23 offensive tackle and No. 288 overall prospect in the class of 2024 by the 247Sports composite rankings. He projects as a left tackle in college following a two-way career at the prep level in which he played on the offensive and defensive lines.
