Gators WR Target TJ Moore Names Florida to Top 13

Tampa Catholic wide receiver prospect TJ Moore trims his list of contenders from 45 to 13, including the Gators among several other Power Five programs.

Florida Gators wide receiver target Terrance "TJ" Moore released his top 13 schools on Monday afternoon, cutting down an extensive 45-team offer sheet.

He included Florida alongside Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC.

On March 30, Moore announced via Twitter that he will visit Gainesville on Thursday, April 6, marking the first documented visit for the Tampa, Fla., native to the University of Florida. He's already made trips to the other in-state schools of Florida State, Miami and UCF.

However, only the Hurricanes remain in the fold of his recruitment.

The trek to UF will be Moore's first exposure to newly minted Gators WR coach Billy Gonzales following the departure of Keary Colbert to the Denver Broncos. Gonzales has meshed with the team well since his return for his third stint with the program, according to head coach Billy Napier.

"Billy G has been an absolute professional since the day he arrived," he said. "He's a good man, he's got character. I think he cares about the players and he's certainly an expert at what he does and works in recruiting."

He'll look to showcase his skills in the latter upon Moore's arrival at Florida on Thursday, the day of the team's second spring scrimmage.

The Gators remain steadfast in their search for weapons for committed quarterback DJ Lagway to use at his disposal during his collegiate career. After acquiring a promising trio of wideouts in the 2023 class, Andy Jean, Aidan Mizell and Eugene Wilson III, a desire remains to continue building the room with length and explosive tendencies moving forward.

Moore fits the billing.

Standing at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Moore presents an explosive skillset as a boundary wideout option. Possessing polished route running, burst and quickness relative to his stature and impressive hands, he aligns as one of the top in-state pass catchers this cycle.

His 42 receptions for 1,021 yards, 24.3 yards per catch and 13 touchdowns in 2022 for Tampa Catholic solidified that standing.
