Florida WR Commit '100% a Gator,' Shuts Down Recruitment

Wide receiver Izaiah Williams is the latest Gators commit to shut down his recruitment.

Following his latest trip to campus, for Florida's Friday Night Lights recruiting camp, Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day wide receiver and Gators' 2024 commitment Izaiah Williams "officially shut down" his recruitment in favor of UF on Saturday.

"100% a Gator," Williams wrote via Twitter.

Williams, a consensus four-star prospect, pledged to Florida on May 5 over interest from LSU, Miami, Florida State and other programs. In a June interview with All Gators, Williams praised UF head coach Billy Napier and wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales for believing in his potential after an injury derailed his junior season of high school.

"It means a lot because it just shows that they really believe in me and believe in the person that I am," Williams said of his recruitment to Florida. "Really big shoutout to Billy G and coach Napier. I can't wait to go up there and give them my all, and they can make me the best person I can be."

[DJ] Lagway's first pass-catching partner in the class of 2024, Williams offers Florida's offense a speedy and explosive option at wide receiver with the ability to play outside and in the slot at the next level. 10.96-second 100-meter and 4.46-second 40-yard dash results can be found on his résumé. Williams averaged 16.8 yards per reception between his sophomore and limited junior (collarbone injury) seasons, hauling in 40 passes for 670 yards and six touchdowns in that stretch.
