Chicago Bears to Meet With Former FSU Football Star Defensive End Jared Verse
The NFL Draft begins in a week and a half. The Florida State Seminoles have plenty of former talents in the draft pool, expecting to hear their name called during the 2024 NFL Draft. It's a testament to how loaded the program was with talent, and that was proven during the NFL Combine.

One of the former Seminoles to have plenty of draft buzz around their name for quite a while is star edge rusher Jared Verse. He had an incredible 2022 campaign after transferring to the program, which saw him continue to show his potential during the 2023 season.
According to Jordan Shultz, the Chicago Bears are hosting Verse on a Top 30 visit. They've also had visits with UCLA's Laiatu Latu and Alabama's Dallas Turner. It seems they could be one of the early suitors in market for an edge rusher in the draft.
Verse spent two seasons in Tallahassee wearing garnet and gold after transferring in to the program. In that two-year stretch, he posted 18 sacks and 29.5 tackles for loss.
With the Bears looking to improve on the defensive side of the football, bringing in a talented pass rusher like Verse is a great start. The potential first-round pick is relentless in pursuit of the quarterback and is a big disruptor and playmaker in the backfield. He'd also provide a big spark in a culture turnaround.
The Bears are likely taking USC's Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the draft -- which marks a new era. When Verse joined Florida State, the program had its first ten-win season under Mike Norvell, and its turnaround was underway.
For more reasons than his ability to attack the football, Verse seems to be an incredible pick for the Bears, who currently have an incredibly bright future.
