BREAKING: Florida State Drops One Spot In Latest AP Top 25 Poll Following Jordan Travis' Injury
Florida State remained undefeated in one of its final regular-season games of 2023 as the program dispatched North Alabama, 58-13. The Seminoles trailed 13-0 after the conclusion of the opening quarter but rallied to score 58 consecutive points in the wake of starting quarterback Jordan Travis going down with a serious injury.
Moving forward, the Seminoles will likely turn to redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker to take over the offense. The loss of one of Florida State's top stars and leaders was reflected in how the program stacked up in the latest rankings.
BREAKING: Florida State Quarterback Jordan Travis Suffers Serious Injury Against North Alabama
On Sunday afternoon, the weekly Associated Press Top 25 Poll was released. Florida State dropped to No. 5 in the rankings with Washington moving into the No. 4 spot after its third straight victory against a ranked opponent. This marks the 12th straight week that the Seminoles have been ranked in the top five. The team was voted No. 4 in the Coaches Poll. The complete AP Top 25 Poll can be viewed here.
The only teams ranked higher than FSU are Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and the Huskies. The Buckeyes and Wolverines will match up this weekend in the regular season finale. The Seminoles are one of six teams remaining in the FBS that have yet to lose a game this year. That number will decrease by at least one following Saturday.
Florida State will have an opportunity to continue strengthening its resume despite the loss of Travis. A win over Florida on the road and a victory against a top-10 Louisville team in the ACC Championship could give the Seminoles enough merit to sneak into the top-4 and earn a College Football Playoff berth.
The Seminoles will be back in action for their regular season finale on Saturday, November 25. The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and be televised on ESPN.
