BREAKING: FSU Football's Full 2024 Schedule Announced
The ACC released its 2024 conference schedule on Wednesday night, providing clarification on the remaining unknown dates on Florida State's upcoming schedule.
The conference is adopting a new scheduling format with the additions of Stanford, Cal, and SMU. All schools will play eight conference games per year with all 17 teams scheduled to meet at least twice over the next seven seasons. The Seminoles have two protected matchups as they will continue to face Miami and Clemson annually. There will continue to be no divisions and the top two teams in the ACC based on conference winning percentage will compete in the championship game.
As previously released, Florida State will begin the campaign with an international matchup. The Seminoles will travel to Ireland to face Georgia Tech for their season opener and conference opener in Week Zero. The game will be played at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
FSU Football's Road Game Against Duke Football To Fall On Friday In October
The team will then travel back to the United States for another ACC matchup against Boston College on Labor Day which will also serve as the home opener. The Seminoles have defeated the Eagles in three consecutive years, including a 31-29 win in 2023.
Florida State arrives at the first of three BYE weeks this season before sticking around in Tallahassee to play Memphis. The Tigers are a sneaky opponent after finishing 10-3 last season under Ryan Silverfield. It's a program that head coach Mike Norvell is obviously very familiar with.
Following that, the Seminoles will begin the bulk of conference play with six ACC opponents over the next seven weeks. That includes consecutive meetings against two of the new members of the league as FSU will conclude a three-game homestand ahead of a trip to Dallas to take on SMU.
A week later, Florida State will come back home to battle with Clemson in one of the most highly-anticipated games of the season. Former Tigers quarterback DJ Uiagalelei will look to keep his winning streak going in the rivalry - this time on the other side.
The conclusion of that contest leads the Seminoles into their own two-game road trip of the season. Florida State will face Duke (Friday night) and Miami in consecutive weeks. The team will have a BYE week prior to taking on the Blue Devils.
The month of November will provide Florida State with its final three chances to play in Doak Campbell Stadium for the regular season. The Seminoles will face off against North Carolina before traveling to Notre Dame for their only game away from home in the final five weeks of 2024. The team will then wrap things up against its only FCS opponent of the year prior to the annual rivalry matchup against Florida which also marks the home finale and Senior Day.
All in all, the team has seven home games, four road games, and one neutral site game to work with.
