Brock Glenn Thinks FSU Should 'Absolutely' Be National Champions If Seminoles Finish Undefeated

Should the Seminoles claim a 2023 National Championship if they are the last unbeaten team in college football?

While the Seminoles aren't one of the four teams competing for a college football National Championship within the next week, quarterback Brock Glenn says the team should "absolutely" be recognized as the National Champion if they're the last remaining undefeated team.

Now, there is an avenue for Florida State to raise a banner and claiming the National Championship. If they're the last Power Five team to stay undefeated, meaning Washington and Michigan lose in the College Football Playoffs, they can still receive a top vote in a major poll.

The voters in the AP Poll don't have to give their top vote to the winner of the AP Poll, but rather an undefeated Seminoles team, if they so choose.

Glenn isn't the only player to say they'd claim a championship if they're the last undefeated Power Five team, too. Linebacker Kalen DeLoach agreed with Glenn's statement.

"It's only right," DeLoach said. "Nothing else needs to be said if we're the only undefeated team."

ESPN personality Rece Davis raised the same point, stating that he'd have to consider Florida State as an option for their top vote if this scenario comes to fruition, and one would have to guess other voters would also have to give it some strong consideration.

"As a matter of principle, I'd consider ranking Florida State No. 1 regardless of whether they are in the CFP field," Rece Davis said to Ralph D. Russo of the Associated Press. "Much like the selection process itself, the exercise is who, in my judgment, is the best team."

No matter what, the Seminoles must first take care of business. Florida State takes on the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET as they're 20-point underdogs. If they, by chance, take down the Bulldogs, they'll then turn their focus to Monday as Michigan takes on Alabama and Washington takes on Texas in the College Football Playoffs.
