Retired Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is calling for “America’s Team” to sign former Florida State running back Dalvin Cook after he was released by the New York Jets.

The Miami native now has the opportunity to play for a playoff team as the NFL heads into Week 18.

Bryant, a three-time Pro-Bowler and an All-Pro, said that signing Cook just “makes too much sense!”

“Cowboys gotta grab Dalvin Cook! It makes too much sense!” proclaimed the former Cowboys receiver.

Cook averaged 4.7 yards a carry during his six years with the Minnesota Vikings before heading to the Jets on a one-year deal before the start of the 2023 season.

Of the five potential landing spots listed per CBS Sports (Dallas, Miami, Cleveland, San Francisco, Baltimore), Dallas ranks last in team rushing yards a game (14th in the league overall).

However, despite a bit of a slide during his short-lived tenure with the Jets (3.2 yards a carry), a team like the Cowboys would be getting a veteran running back just one year removed from four straight 1,000-yard seasons.

A one-two punch in Cowboys starting running back Tony Pollard and a fresh, newly-signed Cook could have the potential to share the workload should they head into the playoffs together. Pollard has already exceeded his season-high rush attempts by more than 40 heading into Week 18.

However, the Miami Dolphins were the betting favorite to land the Miami native Dalvin Cook at one point in the offseason. Additionally, the Dolphins were without their starting running back Raheem Mostert in their blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens as he was dealing with both knee and ankle problems.
