ESPN Personality Kirk Herbstreit Trolls FSU Football Fans on Social Media

Kirk Herbstreit is playing into his character on social media as he trolls Florida State fans.

Florida State fans have been through it over the past few weeks. Since the Seminoles were snubbed from the College Football Playoffs, fans have been defending the program and have remained steadfast that Florida State should be playing in the playoffs to kick off the new year.

The playoff snub sparked conversation all across the media, and one of the most notable personalities to be in favor of leaving the Seminoles out of the playoffs was ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit.

The Florida State fanbase has been swarming Herbstreit after he voiced his opinion over the last month, so he got back at them with some trolls on Friday. This was, of course, bad timing as the fans were ready to go to war after the university's Board of Trustees met to announce a lawsuit against the ACC.

BREAKING: Florida State Lands Commitment From Five-Star Offensive Lineman

"Yeah Drew Lock played really well. Huge win for the Seahawks. Kept their playoffs hopes alive. Incredible to see what a solid backup can do for a teams chances," Herbstreit wrote on social media, seemingly taking a stab at Florida State fans.

Herbstreit was a big critic of Florida State in the playoffs for the exact reason -- they'd be playing with a backup quarterback after Jordan Travis' injury. So, his way of trolling included praising Drew Lock of the Seattle Seahawks who won a big game as a backup quarterback.

A fan then replied, asking whether or not the Florida State backups won. He responded by giving them some flowers.

"Yeah. They did. Finished off a great season. Both played well considering their inexperience and pressure to win and keep an undefeated season alive. Should be commended for sure," Herbstreit continued

Both Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn picked up signature wins with Florida State in their couple weeks leading the team, yet it somehow wasn't enough for a playoff bid.
