According to Action Network's Brett McMurphy, there is another familiar player in the ring, and it comes as no surprise: Florida State. The Seminoles have been on everyone's radar following their last 10-win season and will return Heisman Trophy candidate Jordan Travis as well as All-Americans Trey Benson and Jared Verse.
The 'too-early' matchup prediction has Florida State slated to face Michigan in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The most recent meeting between FSU and the Wolverines occurred in the 2016 Orange Bowl, the last time the program made the New Year's Six. The Seminoles secured a close 33-32 victory in that highly contested game. Notably, now Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook had a standout performance for FSU, rushing for 145 yards and a touchdown in the matchup.
The predicted bout has the potential to draw a significant viewership, fueled by lingering resentment from Wolverine fans regarding the outcome of the previous game, in which star athlete Jabrill Peppers did not participate.
The 2023 Seminoles' journey begins as they kick off the season at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. On September 3, all eyes will be on FSU as they clash with the LSU Tigers, setting the stage for an exciting matchup and season to captivate football fans nationwide.
