Florida State Defensive Lineman Accepts Senior Bowl Invite

The Seminole standout will get one last chance to showcase his ability on the national stage as he accepts an invite to the Senior Bowl.

The Florida State Seminoles have now had back-to-back incredible seasons. They're 10-0 heading into Week 12 of college football, marking their second-straight ten-win season. Mike Norvell has turned the program around, and he's done so while developing talents and winning in the transfer portal.

One recent transfer to the Seminoles has been Braden Fiske, a defensive lineman from Western Michigan, who transferred to play in Tallahassee for his final season of college football.

"I'm just thankful," Fiske said of the opportunity to play at Florida State after defeating Miami. "I never knew I would be in this position to begin with. Just go back a year ago; I had no idea that this opportunity would present itself."

Fiske has had the chance to play with an incredibly talented defensive line that allows him to get plenty of snaps off and enter the game fresh and energized to make huge plays.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound defensive lineman has been able to play a solid role on a defense that is playing at a level in which the team has College Football Playoff hopes. This has helped him build his NFL draft stock.

Still, Fiske has some work to do if he wants to hear his name called during the 2024 NFL Draft. Recently, the Western Michigan transfer accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, giving himself another chance to show his capabilities on the big stage.

Fiske has appeared in all ten games for the Seminoles this year. He's played in 360 snaps, an average of 36 snaps per game so far, which has resulted in 25 total tackles, 20 pressures and 17 hurries. He's got one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss on the year, too. While his numbers aren't eye-popping, his impact with the Seminoles is real, and he'll be able to show his capabilities when playing in the Senior Bowl in February.

This will be the fourth straight year that Florida State sends at least one player to Mobile. Tight end Jaheim Bell accepted an invitation to the event earlier this month.
