Florida State Seminoles Open As A Touchdown Favorite In Rivalry Matchup With Florida Gators

This is the first time since FSU's game in Death Valley at the end of September that the team hasn't been favored by double-digits.

The Seminoles finished off their slate of home games in Doak Campbell Stadium for the 2023 season by blowing the doors off North Alabama, 58-13. Florida State overcame a double-digit deficit following the opening quarter, marking the third time this season that the team has rallied back after trailing by 10 or more points.

FSU will now turn its focus to one of its most important rivals with a date against the Gators scheduled for this weekend in Gainesville. The Seminoles defeated Florida for the first time in six years last season and haven't won on the road in the series since 2017.

Opening odds were released for Week 13 games around college football on Sunday afternoon. According to Circa Sports, Florida State opened as a seven-point favorite against the Gators. The Over/Under is set at 50.5.

This is the first time since FSU's road game in Death Valley at the end of September that the program hasn't been favored by double-digits. The Seminoles were previously 25-point favorites against Virginia Tech, 20-point favorites against Syracuse, 14.5-point favorites against Duke, 21-point favorites against Wake Forest, 17-point favorites against Pittsburgh, and 13-point favorites against Miami.

FSU has won 17 straight games dating back to last season, the third-longest winning streak in the nation and the second-longest winning streak in program history. The Gators have dropped four consecutive games and will be held out of the postseason if they fail to come out on top this weekend.

The Seminoles and the Gators will both be relying on backup quarterbacks to guide them to a victory in the annual rivalry game. FSU will be turning the reins of the offense over to redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker while Florida is putting its season on the line in the hands of redshirt freshman Max Brown.

Florida State and Florida will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25. The game will be televised on ESPN.
