Florida State To Travel The Third Most Miles In The ACC In 2023
There are less than two weeks remaining until Florida State kicks off its 2023 campaign. The Seminoles will begin a highly-anticipated season with a top-10 rematch against LSU. This time it'll be a little closer to home as the team will only have to travel a couple of hours south to Orlando to take on the Tigers.

That will be one of Florida State's shortest commutes of the season as the Seminoles will be racking up frequent flyer miles over the next couple of months. According to Bookies.com, FSU will travel the third most miles (5,872 miles) in the ACC in 2023, coming in behind Miami (8,223 miles) and Syracuse (7,026 miles). That's factoring in both road games and neutral site contests.
The Seminoles' longest trip of the year will come in Week 3 when the team travels to Boston College (5,280 miles) which is 1,303.1 miles from Tallahassee. Florida State will be looking for its third consecutive victory against the Eagles on the road in the series. It won't get any easier the following week as the team will take on Clemson (3,810 miles) on the road. The Eagles and Tigers rank fourth and eighth on the list, respectively.
That will mark the first of two two-game road trips for Florida State this season. The Seminoles will also travel to Wake Forest (3,176 miles) and Pittsburgh (3,103 miles) in consecutive weeks at the conclusion of October and the beginning of November. The Panthers and Demon Deacons will travel the third and fourth least miles in the conference this season, respectively.
Outside of the aforementioned teams, the Seminoles will match up with two other teams who are relatively low on the list. Virginia Tech (4,151 miles) and Duke (3,186 miles) will both travel to Tallahassee in October sandwiched between a matchup with Syracuse.
Travel fatigue is an underrated factor that most people don't consider when games kick off on Saturday. Florida State will have a few issues to manage this season on the road with the biggest likely being preparing for a quick turnaround at Clemson after the tilt with the Eagles.
