Former Florida State Offensive Lineman Graduate Transfers To TCU

The former Seminole has already found a new home in the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Florida State has seen four offensive linemen on its roster depart for the transfer portal since December 4; redshirt senior Bless Harris, redshirt junior Thomas Schrader, redshirt freshman Daughtry Richardson, and redshirt freshman Qae'shon Sapp. The most significant loss was Harris, who was a part-time starter and member of the rotation in Tallahassee.

After entering the portal more than a week ago, the graduate transfer has already found a new home for his final season of eligibility. According to his social media, Harris has committed to the TCU Horned Frogs.

TCU finished the season 5-7 under head coach Sonny Dykes one year after appearing in the National Championship. The team is expected to lose offensive tackles on both sides of the line to graduation so there is an opportunity for Harris to step in and start immediately.

Harris appeared in 11 games, with five starts, for Florida State in 2023. He was banged up for much of the season and that led to inconsistent playing time. Harris accumulated 390 snaps on offense but 232 came in the first four games of the season.

The Louisiana native was slated to start for the Seminoles at right tackle in 2022 but suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of the campaign. He worked his way back to participate in spring practice and solidify a spot in the rotation.

Harris began his college career at FCS Lamar. He appeared in 15 total games for the program. His spring 2021 season was cut short after five starts due to an injury.

As of now, Florida State is projected up to five members of its eight-man rotation from this past season; redshirt junior Darius Washington, redshirt junior Maurice Smith, redshirt junior Robert Scott, redshirt junior Jeremiah Byers, and redshirt junior Keiondre Jones.

Outside of Harris, the Seminoles have seen quarterback AJ Duffy (San Diego State), running back Rodney Hill, running back CJ Campbell, tight end Markeston Douglas (Arizona State), tight end Preston Daniel, offensive lineman Bless Harris, offensive lineman Thomas Schrader, offensive lineman Daughtry Richardson, offensive lineman Qae'shon Sapp, defensive tackle Ayobami Tifase, linebacker Dylan Brown-Turner, and kicker Tyler Keltner enter the portal.

Defensive tackle Malcolm Ray and linebacker DJ Lundy publicly announced they were entering the portal but have yet to do so at this time.

Star defensive end Patrick Payton previously declared his intentions to do so but removed the references on social media and never officially appeared in the database.
