Former Florida State Staff Member named to '30 under 30' list

A nice recognition for the up-and-coming defensive backs coach.

Florida State Head Coach Mike Norvell has an eye for talent and that isn't just exclusive to the football field. He's also been able to stack his coaching staff and support staff with a plethora of rising stars in the industry that have gone on to earn promotions elsewhere.

Following one season with the program as a graduate assistant, former staff member Tre' Bell was hired by Akron as cornerbacks coach in December 2021, marking the first on-field job of his coaching career.

Bell is coming off his first season with the Zips, who finished 2-10 under first-year head coach Joe Moorhead. He guided a group of defensive backs who compiled six interceptions and 24 pass breakups in 2022 while also playing a role on the recruiting trail.

Though he's still getting his feet wet as a coach at the college level, Bell's efforts and talents are already being recognized.

Earlier this week, he was named to the Our Coaching Network '30 under 30' list that included a variety of rising stars in the industry including Boston College's Savon Huggins, Oregon's A'Lique Terry, and Florida's David Doeker.

It's a prestigious honor that will include exclusive events, networking, mentorship, and other features for the coaches that were selected. 

Bell worked under Joe Moorhead previously in 2019 at Mississippi State as a graduate assistant. He spent another year in Starkville under Mike Leach before being hired by the Seminoles in a similar role. Bell assisted former coach Marcus Woodson with the defensive backs during his lone year with the program.

He began his coaching career in 2018 as a quality control coach at Eastern Kentucky where he worked with the defensive backs.

Outside of his college experience, Bell has also spent time at the NFL level with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He worked with the Steelers during training camp as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship,
