Former FSU Football Star Jordan Travis Reveals Thoughts On Historic Playoff Snub

The former Seminole holds a lot of blame for something that wasn't even close to his fault.

Chris Vannini of The Athletic (paywall) sat down with former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis at the East-West Shrine Bowl in Dallas, Texas, catching up on how his injury recovery is coming along, meeting with NFL teams, and the historic exclusion from the College Football Invitational Playoff.

Travis was initially asked about his initial reaction to seeing the Alabama graphic go up in the 4th slot and Florida State 5th.

"It felt like it was my fault. That was probably the worst feeling I've had in a long time in my life. That sucked, for sure. I feel like I let a lot of people down."

When asked later if Travis thought the 'Noles could've won it all, he only responded with "1,000 percent," but did not want to comment further on it, instead saying how he's ready for the future.

It's safe to say Jordan Travis didn't let anyone down in something that was out of his control, finishing 5th in the Heisman Trophy voting, ending his Florida State career with 8,644 passing yards, 1,910 rushing yards, and 97 total touchdowns, all of which rank towards the top in the FSU record books.

Since he's still a few months away from being fully healthy, he's been using his time in Dallas to showcase "his leadership, his football knowledge, his vast responsibilities in the FSU offense and, yes, the status of his injury... that included getting up to the whiteboard to diagram plays." We know he's already met with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Travis says he's talked with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and New Orleans Saints quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Derek Carr since being injured. He's also talked a lot with former FSU and UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton, who also went through a brutal lower leg injury in his college career.
