Former FSU Football Wide Receiver Quickly Finds Home In Transfer Portal

It didn't take long for the former Seminole to find his next college program.

Florida State had nearly 20 players depart from its roster to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal during the window that lasted from December to early January. In the final hours that members of the Seminoles could transfer, the team had one last player move on when redshirt freshman wide receiver Goldie Lawrence decided to continue his college career elsewhere.

After entering the portal less than a week ago, Lawrence has quickly found a new home. According to his social media, he'll be transferring to the University of Central Florida with four seasons of eligibility remaining. Lawrance spent one year in Tallahassee, appearing in just one game and recording no statistics,

Most of Lawrance's contributions came to the scout team as he redshirted while buried in a deep wide receiver room that include Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, and Kentron Poitier, among others.

The Florida native signed with Florida State as a three-star prospect in the 2023 class alongside five-star Hykeem Williams and four-star Vandrevius Jacobs. He caught 92 passes for 1,495 yards with 21 touchdowns and added 139 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground during his prep career at Seminole High School.

Florida State will field a talented unit of wide receivers that includes redshirt senior Kentron Poitier, redshirt senior Darion Williamson, redshirt senior Ja'Khi Douglas, senior Malik Benson, sophomore Hykeem Williams, sophomore Destyn Hill, and sophomore Vandrevius Jacobs.

Outside of Lawrence, the Seminoles saw quarterback Tate Rodemaker (Southern Miss), quarterback AJ Duffy (San Diego State), Rodney Hill, running back CJ Campbell (FAU), tight end Markeston Douglas (Arizona State), tight end Preston Daniel, offensive lineman Thomas Shrader (Appalachian State), offensive lineman Bless Harris (TCU), offensive lineman Daughtry Richardson (FAU), offensive lineman Qae'shon Sapp (ECU), defensive end Gilber Edmond, defensive tackle Malcolm Ray (Rutgers), defensive tackle Ayobami Tifase (Georgia Tech), linebacker DJ Lundy (Colorado), linebacker Dylan Brown-Turner, and kicker Tyler Keltner (Oklahoma) enter the portal during the recent transfer window that closed on January 4.
