FSU Football Listed As Early Underdogs Against LSU in Season Opener

The 'Noles travel to Orlando as a slight underdog after defeating LSU in 2022.

The Florida State Seminoles are set to kick off a prime-time showdown at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. All eyes will be on the 'Noles and the LSU Tigers when the ball flies through the air at 7:30 p.m. to watch what should be a top-10 showdown wrapping up the two-game "home and home" bout between the ACC and SEC.

Last year, the Seminoles traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana, and pulled off what some Creoles would call a heartbreak when defensive back Shyheim Brown jumped a gap and sent the Tigers home with a 24-23 loss on a blocked point after attempt.

This will be year two under Louisiana State head coach Brian Kelly and familiar territory for FSU head coach Mike Norvell. The two have faced off on multiple occasions, most notably, aside from last year's victory, Kelly brought the Irish to Tallahassee at his previous stop as a head coach for Notre Dame and held on to a 41-38 point win in prime time.

Originally opening up as favorites for the September 3rd event, FanDuel now has the Seminoles as roughly two-point underdogs heading into summer.

Featuring potential Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Jordan Travis, the 'Noles currently hold a five-game win streak (8-2) against LSU dating back to the Bobby Bowden era in the 1980s and look to continue that tradition as the FSU faithful paint the city of Orlando garnet and gold.

Additionally, DraftKings.com has FSU as +2 heading into week one which is starting to shape into a clash of the ages for the two historic programs.
