FSU head coach Mike Norvell has seemingly welcomed every former player with open arms since he took over the program in 2019. Numerous alumni are currently on staff and Heisman Trophy winners and champions are a familiar sight.

Florida State great LeRoy Butler took to Twitter on Tuesday to praise Norvell for the hospitality and respect given to not only himself but all alumni who choose to be a part of the program during his time there. Butler was honored at the Syracuse game for being voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"THANK YOU!! For the RED CARPET TREATMENT!! I LIKE THAT YOU TREAT ALL ALUMNI THE SAME! Which is platinum!!!" The Tweet read.

Butler spent four years with the Seminoles from 1986-1989 and left his mark in Tallahassee. He was a First Team All-American and eventually inducted into the FSU Hall of Fame in 2001.

During his time at Florida State, he played in 32 games, amassing 194 tackles and nine interceptions for two scores, helping to lead the way into the dynasty era under coach Bobby Bowden. He is most remembered for his role in the famous 'Puntrooskie' in which he took a flip off a fake punt for 78 yards and set the 'Noles up for a game-winning field goal against rival Clemson in 1988.

Butler was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round and spent a career spanning over a decade in Wisconsin. The four-time Pro Bowler, NFL Hall of Famer, and Super Bowl Champion is famously credited for inventing the "Lambeau Leap," He finished his career in Green Bay with 38 interceptions, 20.5 sacks, and 13 forced fumbles.
