FSU Star DE Jared Verse Part Of Powerade's National Campaign With Other Top Athletes

One of the Seminoles' brightest stars is quickly developing into a national name.

There was a time when Jared Verse flew under the national radar after beginning his college career at FCS Albany. After transferring to Florida State last year, Verse has swiftly risen to one of the most popular names in the country after a breakout season in 2022.

The redshirt junior elected to stay in Tallahassee for one more year to solidify his status as a top prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. That is now paying off for Verse in more ways than one, literally.

On Wednesday, Powerade launched a national ad campaign featuring five of the top college football players in the country. The list includes Verse, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, Georgia cornerback Malaki Starks, USC wide receiver Mario Williams, and Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson. The campaign is expected to be pushed out on TV, radio, and social media.

“As the official hydration partner for many big-time programs, we want Powerade to be synonymous with college football and there was no better way than to team up with several of the best athletes in the country for our newest campaign,” BODYARMOR’s Chief Marketing Officer Tom Gargiulo said. “These top players embody who we are as a brand, putting in the work in hopes of getting to the next level. Given the huge reach of college football, we’re excited to tap into that network of fans and consumers to showcase that POWERADE offers more than the competition.”

Verse was prominently featured in a preview of the upcoming commercial, paying respect to Florida State's tradition of breaking the rock. That's become a benchmark for the program under head coach Mike Norvell following victories and key parts of the offseason.

Dubbed the, 'It Takes More' campaign, Verse can be seen working out before bringing the sledgehammer down on the rock at the end of the commercial alongside a few calls to action and motivational messages. He also signed a deal with The Battle's End NIL Collective earlier this year.

The Ohio native is coming off a 2022 season where he was a First-Team All-ACC selection despite being injured for part of the year. Verse appeared in 12 games, with nine starts, totaling 48 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick.

There's optimism he'll continue to build on his success after focusing on his technique and becoming a more complete player over the offseason. Verse has bulked up and is looking forward to displaying his improvements on the field.

The Seminoles kick off their 2023 campaign against LSU on September 3 in Orlando.
