FSU's Win Over Florida Marks Third Time In 2023 Seminoles Have Drawn 5M+ Viewers

The Seminoles brought in over 40 million viewers throughout the regular season.

Florida State put an exclamation point on its undefeated regular season with a victory over the Florida Gators in The Swamp. It was a back-and-forth affair that provided plenty of exciting moments as the Seminoles climbed out of a double-digit deficit to wrangle the Gators.

The contest ended up drawing in one of the top audiences in Week 13. According to Sports Media Watch, the contest ranked fifth in the country with 5.07 million viewers and a 2.5 rating. It was the third time this season that Florida State has played in a contest that brought in over five million viewers.

Georgia Tech, playing against Georgia, was the only ACC contest that had more viewers than the Seminoles win over the Gators. Outside of that, you've got to go all the way down to Louisville-Kentucky with 1.57 million viewers and Miami-Boston College with 1.43 million viewers.

Florida State averaged 9.1 million viewers in the season-opening victory against LSU. The win over Boston College brought in an average of 3.48 million viewers. That number grew to 6.71 million after beating Clemson in Death Valley. The program garnered 3.02 million following staying undefeated against Virginia Tech.

The viewers dropped to 2.09 million during the squeezing of the Syracuse Orange but jumped to 4.08 million in the win against Duke. During back-to-back road games against Wake Forest and Pittsburgh, FSU brought in 2.09 million viewers and 1.76 million viewers, respectively. The program pulled 4.14 million viewers against the Miami Hurricanes. The Seminoles drew 1.33 million viewers in their home finale win over North Alabama.

The game against Southern Mississippi was not included because it was on the ACC Network. The channel is not Nielsen-rated along with services such as the SEC Network, CBS Sports Network, PAC-12 Network, ESPN+, and Peacock. That means the Seminoles brought in a combined total of roughly 42.87 million viewers during their 11 nationally televised games.

The Seminoles will be back in action to take on Louisville in the ACC Championship at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. The game will be televised on ABC.
