How Did College GameDay Pick Florida State vs. Miami?

What did the College GameDay crew think about the rivalry matchup?

The Florida State Seminoles host one of their top rivals as the Miami Hurricanes come to town in Week 11. The Seminoles have a chance to move to 10-0 and continue their College Football Playoff chances as the No. 4 team in the country.

Earlier in the show, the College GameDay crew talked plenty about the annual rivalry matchup while handing out a handful of takes.

Kirk Herbstreit mentioned the Seminoles' win over Miami in 2021 and how he thinks it changed the trajectory of the program.

"Yeah, this game is important for a lot of reasons. One of the reasons for me, when you go back and think about 2021 when Florida State played Miami," Herbstreit said. "Jordan Travis found a way to win that game that day and to me, that was a turning point in the Mike Norvell Era. They're 21-4 since that day that they won that game against Miami."

"That energy, that rivalry game, instead of it being like anything can happen, I think it's going to motivate Florida State. They're playing at home. I think they're going to win and win convincingly today against Miami."

So, how did the College Gameday crew pick Florida State vs. Miami this year?

Desmond Howard: Florida State

Pat McAfee: Florida State

Nolan Smith: Florida State

Lee Corso: Florida State

Kirk Herbstreit: Florida State

With Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson back, Jordan Travis has his best two weapons as they gear up for the rivalry game. Lee Corso thinks this game will be closer than the experts think because the Canes "play better in Tallahassee."

Herbstreit thought the opposite, though, as he had the playoff-hopeful team winning big. Still, the Seminoles swept the vote. Playing at home with everything they want this season ahead of them, this game is simply about taking care of business.
