The No. 4 Florida State Seminoles (10-0, 8-0 ACC) are coming off a close rivalry win over the Miami Hurricanes (6-4, 2-4 ACC) this past Saturday in what had most FSU fans on the edge of their seats. The Miami defense was not allowing the explosive plays the Seminole offense is known for, however, it marked the 17th game in a row that the 'Noles scored more than 24 points.

The victory also stamped FSU's third consecutive victory against the Hurricanes. Coincidentally, this was the third straight season that Heisman contender Jordan Travis has been under center against a team that he has no love lost for.

"I think when you see what Jordan Travis has meant to this program, and especially the path that he's been on, you know, there has been ups and downs," FSU head coach Mike Norvell said about Travis. "He's had to work, he's had to believe, he's had to grow throughout it, and he is a tremendous leader. For him to finish up as a starting quarterback 3-0 against those guys, it's big. You know, I'm so proud of him.

Travis accounted for over 750 yards of offense, six touchdowns, and just one interception during those three games and will leave another stamp on the Florida State record books. Travis recently passed Chris Rix for No. 2 on FSU's career passing yards list and now has 8,622 yards as a Seminole after Saturday's win. He's also led the team to back-to-back 10-win seasons and their first ACC Championship Game in nearly a decade.

"I love winning football games at the end of the day. That's the goal every week. Obviously going against Miami it's a little bit different. Feeling is a little bit different. Emotions are a little bit different," Travis said. "Yeah, like Kalen said, it's my last year, too, so I mean, I love -- I'm so happy I'm going out with a win against them boys. I'm not a fan of them at all. Yeah, very thankful."

It's worth noting that Travis was a member of the 2020 team that fell short 52-10 against Miami. However, James Blackman started that contest and Mike Norvell wasn't even with the Seminoles after testing positive for COVID-19.

There is still a lot left for Travis to accomplish in his last season as a Seminole. Florida State travels to Gainesville in two weeks to face the Florida Gators who are another long-time rival. Winning the state of Florida and an ACC Championship would almost surely secure their spot in the College Football Playoff and a chance for another National Title.
