Keon Coleman Sends Heartfelt Message To Florida State Community As He Moves On To The NFL
Florida State has only produced one first-round pick (Jermaine Johnson) since head coach Mike Norvell arrived in Tallahassee but that number is expected to grow this offseason. The Seminoles were loaded with star talent in 2023, headlined by names such as defensive end Jared Verse and wide receiver Keon Coleman.
On Wednesday afternoon, Coleman officially announced that he was entering the 2024 NFL Draft. The move was already confirmed through reports last week but it's now official that he'll be moving on to the professional level. Coleman sent a heartfelt message to FSU fans on social media after his lone year in garnet and gold.
"Dear Nole Family, first things first, I want to give thanks to God for his immeasurable blessing on my life. When I first decided to come to Tallahassee, I honestly did not know what to expect. You exceeded all of my expectations and welcomed me with open arms - even changing Leon County to Keon County. We all shared a common goal. You wanted to win a championship. I came here to win a championship. We gave it everything we had and unfortunately did not have the opportunity to prove that we were the best team in college football this year. I'm forever grateful for the fans, my coaches, and my teammates who are now my life-long brothers."

"To My Michigan State family, you've forever in my heart for helping build the foundation that I stood on throughout my college career. While I finished up a Seminole, I'm forever a Spartandawg. We are family forever!!!"
"Last and most importantly, I want to thank my family. So much of the love people show is often based on how you perform on the field. I can never thank you enough for the unconditional love and support that you have shown me. It took a village to raise me."
"One of my favorite bible verses Habakkuk 2:2, reads, "and the lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." After praying and seeking guidance from God, I finally understand what the next chapter of my life entails."
"I am officially declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to play in the NFL and I look forward to the opportunity to make a positive impact both on and off the field."
Coleman caught 50 passes for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns through the air while returning 25 punts for 300 yards at Florida State. He became the first Seminole to be named First-Team All-ACC at three different positions (wide receiver, all-purpose player, and specialist).
Prior to his time in Tallahassee, Coleman spent two season at Michigan State where he caught 65 passes for 848 yards and eight touchdowns. He signed with the Spartans as a three-star prospect in the 2021 class.
It'll be fun to watch if Coleman decides to compete among other top wide receiver prospects at the combine. The NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
