Following the matchup against the Hurricanes, Florida State will match up with North Alabama in its home finale. On Monday, the ACC announced game times and television information for contests that'll take place during the weekend of Saturday, November 18. According to the Atlantic Coast Conference, the game between the Seminoles and the Lions will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and be televised on The CW Network.
This will be FSU's first appearance on a new network that is televising ACC games this season. The Seminoles have previously played on ABC (eight times, including this weekend), ESPN (once), and the ACC Network (once).
The Seminoles have never faced off with North Alabama on the football field. The program has an interesting history as the Lions were at the D2 level from 1972-2017 prior to moving up to the FCS level in 2018. It's been a struggle as of late with the team finishing 1-10 in 2022.
Despite a coaching change where the Lions ended up hiring Brent Dearmon away from Florida Atlantic, the program has only compiled a 3-7 record this year, including losses in five of the last six games. The offense has averaged 406.4 yards of total offense and 23.9 points per game this season but the defense is surrendering 424.8 yards and 30.8 points per game.
Sophomore quarterback Noah Walters is guiding the Lions for the second straight year. He's completed 211/356 passes (59.3%) for 2,281 yards with 19 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. Walters has also rushed for 495 yards and two more scores. Redshirt senior wide receiver Takairee Kenebrew leads the team with 39 catches for 656 yards and nine touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, redshirt sophomore defensive back Edwin White Schultz leads the defense with 82 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one blocked kick, and three pass deflections. The Lions have forced 16 turnovers in ten regular season games.
North Alabama is enjoying a week off prior to the game against Florida State. The Seminoles will celebrate Senior Day and honor the ten-year anniversary of the 2013 National Championship team.
