Notable Weight Changes For FSU Football Ahead Of Fall Camp
There is just over a week remaining until Florida State takes the field for preseason camp on Thursday, August 3. While preparing to get back into action, the Seminoles also released their 2023 Football Media Guide, providing updates to the roster and coaching staff in the process.

Just like in the spring, a large percentage of Florida State's roster has gained or lost weight. There are 21 players who have added five or more pounds, including five who have gained 10+ pounds. On the flip side, there are 17 players who have lost five or more pounds, including six who have lost 10+ pounds.
Let's take a look at a few of the players who made changes since the spring.

Running Back Samuel Singleton: 185 pounds to 188 pounds (+3)
Wide Receiver Darion Williamson: 200 pounds to 204 pounds (+4)
Wide Receiver Goldie Lawrence: 190 pounds to 193 pounds (+3)
Tight End Markeston Douglas: 274 pounds to 285 pounds (+11)
Tight End Jaheim Bell: 233 pounds to 239 pounds (+6)
Offensive Lineman D'Mitri Emmanuel: 300 pounds to 309 pounds (+9)
Offensive Lineman Darius Washington: 300 pounds to 306 pounds (+6)
Offensive Lineman Robert Scott: 304 pounds to 313 pounds (+9)
Offensive Lineman Daughtry Richardson: 310 pounds to 316 pounds (+6)
Offensive Lineman Kanaya Charlton: 335 pounds to 338 pounds (+3)

Kicker Tyler Keltner: 182 pounds to 188 pounds (+6)
The most notable development since the spring in the weight department is the increase in size among the defensive ends. Star Jared Verse has continued to bulk up and now checks in 12 pounds heavier than the weight he was listed at in 2022. Gilber Edmond (+12), Jaden Jones (+14), and Aaron Hester (+14) all added 10+ pounds while Byron Turner Jr. broke into the 240s.
Defensive Darrell Jackson is now one of four players on the roster to weigh 330+ pounds. In the defensive backfield, cornerback Azareye'h Thomas and cornerback Fentrell Cypress II have both added weight in preparation to play large roles for the Seminoles.
Florida State has size and depth in the trenches that are trending in the right direction. The Seminoles have 13 scholarship players on the offensive or defensive line that check in at 310+ pounds. That includes two true freshmen (Chris Andre' Otto, Lucas Simmons).

A decent number of players on the roster have shed weight ahead of fall camp. Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Jaylen Early has dropped a whopping 25 pounds since the conclusion of the spring, meaning he's lost 39 pounds this offseason after previously being listed at 338 pounds. Wide receiver Hykeem Williams wasn't in top shape during the spring but is looking to change that after losing nine pounds.
On the other side of the ball, defensive tackle Fabien Lovett is down to 318 pounds and will enter the season in excellent shape. Other key defenders such as safety Shyheim Brown, cornerback Jarrian Jones, and linebacker DJ Lundy have all shed some weight.
