SNEAK PEEK: First Look At Team-Issued Turquoise FSU Football Jerseys

Florida State has never worn turquoise on the football field.

Intentional or not, it appears Florida State fans have received a first look at a team-issued turquoise version of the football jerseys. FSU fans are used to seeing the Seminoles in this hue on the hardwood and even witnessed the football staff wear the color during the Duke game in October of 2023.

However, turquoise has never been worn on the gridiron by the ’Noles.

The photo was shared by Gabriel Isasi V of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath, a personal injury law firm out of West Palm Beach, Florida. According to his X account, Isasi V is an FSU alum and a part of multiple prominent FSU support organizations such as The Battle’s End.

According to Seminoles.com, “The color turquoise represents harmony, friendship and fellowship in the culture of many Native Americans.”

Furthermore, contests in which FSU wears the turquoise – also known as “Seminole Heritage” games – are a tribute to the university’s “long-standing relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida.”

These turquoise jerseys have been on sale to the public since Sept. 9. In the picture provided above, it does not appear the team-issued turquoise jerseys delineate from the 2023 jerseys in any way.

If these jerseys have been available for purchase for months, what is so special about seeing them in the locker room?

Well, it could mean multiple things.

Number one, it could mean that Florida State could wear them on the football field during play, perhaps even this upcoming season.

Number two, the jerseys could simply be there for events to showcase to recruits and boosters.

Number three (and most unlikely), the jerseys could be used as non-contact jerseys for quarterbacks and those working through injuries for practices and scrimmages.

Surprisingly, the ACC patch is still there.
