Three More Former FSU Football Staffers Take Positions With Duke Football
Think of college football as a ladder of sorts. Whether you're a player, coach, or off-field staff member, the goal is to always keep climbing to the next level. In an industry that's already extremely competitive, opportunities come few and far between and they've got to be acted on.
A growing number of off-field staff members at Florida State are accepting promotions this offseason. The majority of that movement occurred after former Director of Scouting, John Garrett, was hired as the General Manager of Player Personnel at Duke under new head coach Manny Diaz.

Since then, at least three more staffers have agreed to follow Garrett to Durham. The trio will be helping out the Blue Devils in the front office in various roles.
Mitch Ciombor spent two years at Florida State as a student equipment manager and player personnel assistant. He'll be taking on the Coordinator of High School Recruiting position at Duke.
Following six years working with the football program and even more as a student at Florida State, Michael Zerbe is moving onto the next chapter of his career with the Blue Devils. He held multiple roles during his time with the Seminoles including student manager, student recruiting assistant, player personnel assistant, and assistant director of player personnel.
Zerbe will be joining Duke as Director of Scouting on the defensive side of the ball. His experience should be valuable in his transition to his new role.
A member of Florida State's recruiting staff will also be moving on as Jenna Kinker was named Duke's new Director of Recruiting Operations. She was previously with the Seminoles for over a year as the coordinator of on campus recruiting. Kinker has experience as a football intern at UCF and the on-campus recruiting coordinator for UT-Chattanooga.
The departures mean Florida State will be adding some new faces to the program throughout the offseason. The Seminoles also saw graduate assistant Cooper Williams accept a job at Missouri earlier this week.
