WATCH: Caziah Holmes Scores Touchdown To Finish 85-Yard Drive, Cut Into Duke's Lead

The Seminoles cut into the Blue Devils' advantage following a shaky start.

The opening quarter has not gone Florida State's way as the team quickly found itself trailing by double digits to Duke. The Blue Devils took advantage of the Seminoles failing to convert on back-to-back fourth and short attempts, threatening to run away with the top-25 matchup inside Doak Campbell Stadium.

Backed up against the wall and needing a response, FSU turned to quarterback Jordan Travis to give the team life. That task got a little tougher after running back Rodney Hill was brought down at the 15 during a kick return, leaving a long way to drive for the offense.

Travis answered the bell and wasted no time as he led the Seminoles downfield by completing eight of his nine passes for 91 yards and a touchdown to cut the deficit to three points. One play after connecting with tight end Jaheim Bell to move inside the 10, Travis tossed outside to Caziah Holmes and his running back did the rest by powering his way into the end zone.

The touchdown catch marked the first for Holmes since he transferred to Florida State last year. It was just his second reception of the 2023 season for the former Penn State transfer, who has totaled four rushes for 64 yards and one score on the ground as well.

Florida State has found life since getting into the end zone, outgaining Duke 147-71 in total yards of offense during the first quarter.

The Seminoles trail 17-7 early in the second frame as they try to make their second double-digit comeback of the 2023 season.
