However, there might not have been anyone that could've predicted the level of domination that Florida State would put together during the opening quarter. The Seminoles outgained Virginia Tech 198-9 in total yards as the offense scored three consecutive touchdown drives while the defense forced three straight three-and-outs.

Quarterback Jordan Travis has been sharp early in the contest and that's led to him being in complete control thus far. Travis finished the first quarter 9/12 for 98 yards and two touchdowns through the air while rushing for four carries for 14 yards.

Multiple skill players were the beneficiary of Travis' strong quarter, including redshirt junior wide receiver Johnny Wilson. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound athlete hauled in three catches for 41 yards and two touchdowns during Florida State's first three drives.

The touchdowns marked his first two scores of the year as he starred opposite of Michigan State transfer Keon Coleman, who is leading the team in receiving touchdowns (6). The second connection between the two marked Travis' 57th career touchdown pass, tying him for fourth in school history with former ACC Player of the Year, Danny Kanell.

The Seminoles are leading 22-0 with 10:58 remaining until halftime. To this point of the game, Florida State has taken advantage of every opportunity that is coming its way and executing at a high level.
