WATCH: Mike Norvell addresses the media prior to the opening of spring camp

"I'm excited that people are talking about this program nationally."

The Florida State Seminoles are reeling off a 10-3 season and a Cheez-It Bowl victory over the Oklahoma Sooners to end the year. Winter workouts ended with a grueling Tour of Duty workout; the Noles look ahead to spring camp, which will start on March 6.

Head coach Mike Norvell addressed the media on Friday at his annual pre-spring luncheon to lay out a guideline and plan for what he expects to accomplish in these upcoming months and what he expects to see in the 2023 season.

"We've seen great strides in this program. This is a team that is building in their confidence because of the work, because of the continuity we've had, and really that sense of urgency for improvement."

"We've got a great competitive spring ahead; there's gonna be with having the number of players that we have on the roster, it's going to allow us to be unique in how we kind of structure things and make sure that plenty of reps are going to be able to be dispersed." Norvell said, "obviously give guys opportunities of where they are and obviously the potential of where they can go."

Although the team did finish 10-3, 5-3 ACC, Norvell made it a point to say there is still room for improvement.

"Last year was not a perfect season. This is a new team this year." Norvell said. "Our guys have that sense of urgency, and we need to have that sense of urgency."

"We had a top-15 offense, top-15 defense, and special teams that have made great improvements. But there are still so many areas of growth, so what are we doing? What are we implementing to help continue to elevate the positions we put our players in?

As the football team has progressed, so has the administration's commitment to the program.

"Our administration and that alignment of what we're doing are special. I'm forever grateful for every person that helped bring me to Florida State a few years ago and bring this staff to Florida State. Just the passion for the university played a big role in what our university stands for and what we're all about." He said. "As we've transitioned with new leadership, we hit a home run... This is a remarkable place."

In his full interview below, Norvell elaborates on quarterback Jordan Travis' improvement, returnees, newcomers, and improvement moving forward.
