Former FSU Football RB Enters Transfer Portal For Third Time In Four Months

Former Florida State running back Rodney Hill has entered the transfer portal once again. This is his third trip to the portal since announcing his departure from FSU in mid-December.
In January of 2022, Hill enrolled at FSU and saw some significant game time in his first two seasons for the Seminoles. Almost two years later, he initially elected to transfer to FAMU but re-entered the portal when head coach Willie Simmons decided to join Manny Diaz as the running backs coach at Duke.
Hill then elected to transfer to Miami but never officially enrolled, instead remaining with the Rattlers under James Colzie. He will enter the transfer market as a member of FAMU and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
With the ’Noles, Hill appeared in a total of 16 games. In 2023, the former FSU running back saw action in 12 of Florida State’s 13 games. He had 50 rushing attempts for 190 yards (3.8 yards a carry) and a touchdown. He also had five catches for 83 yards (16.6 yards per reception).

Hill’s departure came at a time in which the Garnet and Gold secured multiple running back transfers in the portal.
This included Roydell Williams from Alabama who appeared in 45 games for the Crimson Tide, rushing 234 times for 1,165 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Seminoles also added Jaylin Lucas from Indiana. He brings 875 total scrimmage yards and six scores with him. He will also be a threat on special teams.
They will also be joined by four-star recruit Kam Davis – who has shown a tremendous amount of potential in spring practices – as well as redshirt freshman Samuel Singleton, and true freshman Micahi Danzy. Florida State also has redshirt senior Lawrance Toafili and redshirt senior Caziah Holmes in the backfield.
